Inspector Hector Plaque Detector and Tooth Protector is a fun, interactive brand of oral care products designed to offer a total oral care solution for kids' dental health. Inspector Hector Plaque Detector Pre-Brush Rinse helps kids find plaque on their teeth so they can brush it away. Inspector Hector Tooth Protector Anti-Cavity Rinse with Floride helps prevent cavities after brushing.

How does Inspector Hector Plaque Detector work?

Inspector Hector Plaque Detector is used before brushing as a dental hygiene teaching tool. The product is tinted with a safe colorant and as the child rinses with the solution, it adheres to and tints the gummy plaque on the teeth. The blue tinted gummy plaque provides a visual target for the child to assist in teaching proper brushing.

Will Inspector Hector Plaque Detector stain my child's teeth, lips or gums?

The plaque detecting formula only adheres to the gummy plaque on the teeth, which is removed with proper brushing. The blue tint may discolor fabrics or material, so we suggest you supervise children as necessary on using the product until capable of using without supervision.

Will Inspector Hector Plaque Detector permanently stain porcelain caps?

If the child properly brushes immediately after using Inspector Hector Plaque Detector, there should be no risk of permanently staining porcelain caps, crowns or moldings.

If I spill Inspector Hector Plaque Detector, how can I help prevent staining on a surface or fabric?

Depending on the carpet/ fabric, you should be able to remove recent staining by cleaning with cold water and standard detergent. For set-in stains, pre-treatment may be required followed by cleaning with cold water and standard detergent. If you are cleaning a hard surface, we recommend using warm water and a typical hard surface cleanser or warm water and a bleach based hard surface cleanser. We recommend you check with the manufacturer of your carpet and perform a spot test in an inconspicuous area prior to cleaning.

How often should I use Inspector Hector Tooth Protector?

Inspector Hector Tooth Protector with fluoride is an anti-cavity rinse used once a day after brushing to help prevent cavities. Inspector Hector Tooth Protector carries the ADA's seal of acceptance based on it's finding that the product is effective in helping to prevent and reduce tooth decay, when used as directed.

Why should my child not eat or drink for 30 minutes after using Inspector Hector Tooth Protector?

The rinse needs to remain in contact with the teeth for a reasonable length of time in order for the fluoride (the active ingredient) to be absorbed by the tooth enamel.

At what age can my children start using these products?

Inspector Hector Plaque Detector is recommended for use before brushing for children 6 to 12 years of age. Inspector Hector Tooth Protector is recommended for adults and children 6 years of age and older. For children under 6 years of age, consult your dentist or doctor. Parents should supervise all children under 12 years of age as necessary until they are capable of using the product without supervision.

Is the product for rinsing only or can it be swallowed?

While both products are alcohol-free, Inspector Hector Plaque Detector and Tooth Protector are for rinsing only and should not be swallowed. Both the Plaque Detector and the Tooth Protector have a measured cap with a fill line that is designed to measure 10ml of product needed for rinsing. Children should not fill above the 10ml fill line. Children should swish as directed and spit the product out.

What should I do if my child swallows some of the product?

Parents should instruct children under 12 years of age in good rinsing habits to minimize swallowing and parents should supervise as necessary until the child is capable of using the product without supervision. Accidental swallowing of 10ml or less of the product should not be harmful but if you think a child has swallowed more than the rinse amount, seek medical assistance or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.

There is no expiration date on the product. How do I know if it is safe to use?

All Inspector Hector products have a listed manufacture code. Inspector Hector Plaque Detector has a 23-month shelf life from time of manufacture. Inspector Hector Plaque Detector & Tooth Protector come in convenient 500 ml squeeze bottles with 10ml fill caps for easy dispensing. Inspector Hector Plaque Detector is available in Secret Blue Bubble Gum & Secret Blue Mint. Inspector Hector Tooth Protector is available in Top Secret Bubble Gum.

Are Inspector Hector Oral Rinse products sugar free?

Yes. Inspector Hector is made with an artificial sweetener. It does not contain natural sugar.

What is Inspector Hector® Dirt Detector Color Changing Soap?

Inspector Hector Dirt Detector is a fun, interactive brand of hand soap designed to promote good hygiene habits in children two to 12 years of age. Inspector Hector Dirt Detector Color Changing Soap encourages kids to wash hands longer helping to promote healthy habits and reduce the spread of germs.

How does Inspector Hector Dirt Detector Color Changing Soap work?

Inspector Hector Dirt Detector contains special color beads that burst when the product is used, causing the soap suds to change color. The colorful suds provide children with a visual clue that lets them know they have washed hands long enough (approximately 15 to 20 seconds) for cleaning to be effective.

While Inspector Hector Dirt Detector doesn't actually detect dirt, it teaches children hand washing is fun. And that's a mystery solved!

Can Inspector Hector Dirt Detector stain my child's hands or clothing?

With proper washing and rinsing, Inspector Hector Dirt Detector should not stain hands or clothing. For Fabric Stains: The colors used in the soap are water soluble, so depending on the fabric, you should be able to remove recent staining by cleaning with cold water and standard detergent. For set-in stains, pre-treatment may be required followed by cleaning with cold water and standard detergent.

Can Inspector Hector Dirt Detector be used in the bathtub or shower?

Inspector Hector Dirt Detector is a hand soap designed for hand washing. It is safe for other body parts, but as with any soap, shampoo or bubble bath, caution should be used when using in a bath tub for prolonged periods. As with any personal care product, we recommend Inspector Hector Dirt Detector be used in the manner for which it was designed under the supervision of an adult.

What should I do if my child licks, eats, or otherwise ingests the soap/foam?

As with all hand soaps or personal care products, Inspector Hector Dirt Detector should be used with the supervision of an adult. In case of accidental ingestion, you should seek medical attention or call your local poison control center.
